We need more firefighters for our four shift teams. At Gällivare Rescue Services, you will work as one of five key players in a small organization. We cover a large geographical area, ranging from mines and mountains to vast mountain forests. Most of the municipality's inhabitants live in Gällivare town, where our full-time station is centrally located. In our villages, we have five rescue stations that assist us by being first on the scene and providing initial help.
We handle approximately 300 alarms per year.
We collaborate with our neighboring municipalities and industrial fire brigades in the area.

Job Responsibilities
As a firefighter with us, we want you to engage in our various operational areas based on your interest and suitability. You will work with accident prevention activities such as supervision, information, and training, so we want you to be good at communicating with people and building trust.
When the alarm sounds, you are one of us who must handle the incident as quickly as possible in a professional and efficient manner. To achieve this, we need to practice and maintain our vehicles and equipment. We work in shifts, including work every other weekend.
We are looking for you who have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others. You need to show judgment and remain calm, stable, and controlled in pressured situations. The profession requires practical, physical, and social skills.
It is important that you have a positive attitude, are a good team player, and can also work independently.
Interviews and job-related and physical tests will be conducted prior to employment.
Qualifications
- Protection against Accidents (SMO) certification
- Driver's license, category B or higher
- Passing roller test according to AFS 2007:7 (not older than 3 months) attached to the application.
- Good swimming skills, at least Gold Buoy certificate attached to the application.
- Ability to work at heights and no predisposition to claustrophobia.
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
- Meritorious qualifications:
- Supervision A
- Professional experience as a firefighter
- Driver's license categories C, CE, BE
- Snowmobile license
- First aid training for emergency care, chainsaw license, other relevant professional training.
- Personal suitability is given great weight.
Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.
Working Hours/Duration
Full-time, permanent position
A 6-month probationary period applies
Salary
Monthly salary, we apply individual salary setting – please state your salary requirements in the application.
Start Date / Application
With your application, we require a CV and a cover letter.
We also require a roller test (not older than 3 months) and a Gold Buoy certificate with a passing result.

Start date: As soon as possible or as agreed; we have a planned introductory training on September 14.
