As a protective guard (skyddsvakt) at Avarn Security, you have a socially important mission to protect and monitor protected objects in accordance with the Protection Act. A protective guard's task is to monitor protected objects and protect against sabotage, espionage, terrorist crimes, and serious robbery. A protective guard has special powers to inspect vehicles, conduct body searches, seize items, and reject or detain persons found at a protected object. Protected objects are operations that are vital for society to function in peace, crisis, or war. Examples of protected objects include nuclear power plants, airports, or military facilities.

As a protective guard, you help protect vital societal functions. We are looking for you who want to work in a role with a high security level, where attention to detail and teamwork are key.

In the role of a protective guard, you work with preventing and managing security risks at protected objects. We offer:

Duration: Full-time, part-time, and permanent based on need (6-month probationary period applies)

Responsibilities: The work involves preventing and managing security risks, controlling access, and ensuring that unauthorized persons do not gain access to protected areas. You are responsible for conducting person and vehicle checks, monitoring facilities, and patrolling to detect and avert threats.

Qualifications: We are looking for you who have personal maturity and feel confident in the role of a protective guard. Personal qualities are what determine the best fit. You should possess a high level of security awareness and social competence. We place great emphasis on your ability to work in a team, but we also expect you to independently identify and solve problems. To work at certain objects, a security clearance, extended background check, and security interview will be conducted.

Requirements for applicants:

In addition to the personal qualities we seek and describe in the various assignments, you must meet the basic requirements to qualify for the position:

• Be at least 18 years old before starting the assignment
• Upper secondary education (high school diploma)
• Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Category B driver's license

Merits:

• Security guard training (VU1 + VU2)
• Firearms training
• Civil Protective Guard Training (military protective guard training, completed in 2016 or later)

The position is classified for security, which means a security clearance will be conducted and Swedish citizenship is a requirement.

Additionally, you must be free of criminal record, drug-free, have stable finances, and be in good health and physical condition to be employed by Avarn Security. To work as a protective guard, you also need approval from the County Administrative Board (we handle the application for you).

To be employed within Avarn Security AB, you must be approved by the County Administrative Board for employment in an authorized security company, in accordance with the Act (1974:191) on Security Companies. The application to the County Administrative Board is handled by Avarn Security. Depending on the position, a security clearance according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may also be relevant. To investigate and assess whether you meet the requirements of the respective legislation, a background check is conducted. This assessment covers law-abidingness, suitability, reliability, loyalty, and potential vulnerabilities. Information obtained may come from you, open sources, or authorities. When assessing suitability for a position, we always apply a holistic assessment.

If you have completed protective guard training during military basic training, it is also valid for civilian use. The training must have been completed in 2016 or later, and the certificate must not be older than 5 years. If you have protective guard training from the Swedish Armed Forces without having completed military basic training, you need to complete a shortened protective guard training to work as a civilian protective guard.
