RESPONSIBILITIES

Falkenberg Municipality currently operates a personal ombudsman service for individuals with psychiatric disabilities. Since one of our personal ombudsmen will have another assignment for a limited period, we are now looking for a new colleague.

A personal ombudsman is a support for individuals with long-term and extensive psychiatric disabilities. Working as a Personal Ombudsman means that together with the client, you identify the client's needs, assist in contact with various authorities, support in applying for interventions, accompany them to various places in society where the client needs to go, such as the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Swedish Public Employment Service, healthcare facilities, and the municipality's various operations.

The goal is to provide individuals with psychiatric disabilities with increased quality of life and a more independent life. The Personal Ombudsman should also work to ensure that the individual has access to rehabilitation, work, or meaningful occupation. The assignment also includes mapping out systemic flaws in society that prevent the client's needs from being met. These systemic flaws are reported to the County Administrative Board and the National Board of Health and Welfare.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a university degree in behavioral sciences, psychiatry, or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You should have knowledge and work experience from meeting and working with individuals who have psychiatric variations. Furthermore, you should have good knowledge of relevant legislation and society's support and services.

It is meritorious if you have experience working with people with psychiatric disabilities and knowledge about recovery. Familiarity with authority contacts and knowledge of where to find current laws and regulatory systems.

Your personal qualities are characterized by having a good approach, the ability to create good relationships and trust, being sensitive, humble, driven, and wanting a varied and rewarding job. You should have the ability to take personal responsibility and work independently, create good relationships, and be able to create a trusting collaboration with the individual.

Great importance will be attached to your personal suitability for the position.

A driver's license is a requirement.
