The role of Support Assistant with us

As a Support Assistant, you provide our residents with support in all aspects of daily life with the aim of creating good living conditions and promoting influence and participation. The work involves providing support with personal care, hygiene, and mobility, performing supervision and care interventions, and being a secure support based on individual needs during the night.

You are also responsible for social documentation, handling alarms, and collaborating with colleagues and the unit manager regarding planning and interventions. The work is carried out according to the organization's routines and processes, with significant personal responsibility and close dialogue with the unit manager. The position involves night work according to a varying schedule, with shifts every other weekend or 2–3 weekends out of 6.

Organization Description – Night Interventions in Housing with Special Support

Our night operations within housing with special support aim to create security, continuity, and individualized support for people with various support needs during all hours of the day. The operations are conducted from a holistic perspective where we ensure that each individual receives the right support, even at night, to maintain good quality of life and safety.

The Night Organization consists of two complementary functions: roving night staff and resource staff. Together, they form a flexible and needs-adapted organization that can meet both planned and urgent needs.

The roving night staff operate from a central office in Kungsbacka and are responsible for providing support interventions to several facilities during the night. They also serve as an important contact point by receiving and handling alarms and calls from night staff, and stepping in to support in various situations when needed.

The resource staff work across several units within both housing with special support and personal assistance. The role involves quickly adapting to different workplaces and users' needs, sometimes with short notice. The focus is on providing practical and social support, such as during mobility, personal care, and other individual needs that may arise during the night.

The operations are characterized by flexibility, collaboration, and professional treatment. Employees have close dialogue with their nearest manager and contribute together to a secure and well-functioning night organization where the individual's needs are always at the center. You contribute to security, continuity, and good quality in care by being there when needs are greatest.

Your Profile

To thrive in the role, you need to be flexible, responsible, and confident in making your own decisions. You are receptive and empathetic in interactions with others, have a positive attitude, and contribute to a good work climate. You can adapt to different situations and individuals, organize your tasks, and are comfortable with social documentation. We also look for someone who is collaborative, non-hierarchical, and engaged in providing each user with the best possible support and opportunity for participation. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as this is required in daily work. Personal suitability will be given great weight.

We are looking for you who have:

  • a nurse assistant education or other relevant education
  • experience working within LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), special housing, or personal assistance
  • a valid driver's license (Category B)
