Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of young people and contribute to a safer society?
Here, you will work closely with children and young people in their daily lives – with a focus on early interventions, strong relationships, and preventive work that truly makes a difference. We are now taking another step in the development of our crime prevention work and strengthening our field operations. We are looking for two field secretaries who will join the existing field group in the municipality. The field group is a key force in the work to reduce youth crime and strengthen safety in the local community.
Your responsibilities
In the role of field secretary, you work to establish contact, build trust, and identify the needs of children and young people in various environments. The work is varied and takes place both independently and in collaboration with colleagues and partners.
Your duties include, but are not limited to:
- working outreach in environments where young people are present, such as schools, leisure activities, and public spaces
- building and maintaining trusting relationships with children and young people
- collaborating with internal and external actors within the framework of SSPF (School, Social Services, Police, and Leisure)
- keeping up to date with the target group's situation through dialogue and collaboration
- contributing to the joint work within the unit, where tasks may vary over time
You work during both day and evening hours and need to be flexible in your approach.
Your qualifications
We are looking for you who have post-secondary education in social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or equivalent. You have experience working with children and young people, for example in schools, leisure activities, or social services.
It is an advantage if you have:
- experience of collaboration between different actors
- experience of meeting and collaborating with parents
- knowledge of risk and protective factors in the lives of children and young people
- experience of club life or organized leisure activities
- training in MI (Motivational Interviewing) or RePulse
- experience in planning and conducting workshops or information campaigns
A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.
To succeed in the role, you work based on the following competencies:
- Networking – You actively contact relevant actors and build long-term relationships. You maintain and develop networks so that collaboration functions effectively and contributes to better support for children and young people.
- Collaboration – You work well with others, share knowledge, and contribute to joint solutions. You adapt your working methods to achieve the best results for the target group.
- Flexibility – You adapt to changed conditions and varying needs in the operations. You can change working methods and priorities when the situation requires it.
- Stress resistance – You maintain calm and focus even in pressured situations. You can prioritize and act structurally when the pace is high or when unexpected events occur.
You are confident in yourself and have a relationship-building approach. You feel comfortable in both individual conversations and speaking in front of groups. You communicate respectfully and constructively, and have an interest in developing evidence-based social work together with others.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability and see diversity as a strength.
What we offer you
Here, you will have a meaningful and developing job where you make a difference in people's daily lives. You become part of an engaged team that together builds an operation with a strong focus on collaboration, learning, and innovation.
We offer you:
- a varied job with great opportunities to influence
- close collaboration with engaged colleagues and other professions
- opportunities to develop within preventive social work
- a workplace where your ideas and initiatives are valued
