Job Opportunity: Short-term Care within LSS – Youth Support
We are Varberg Municipality, the employer who sees the potential in you. Here you get to make a difference, both for others and for yourself. We are driven by the idea of simplifying people's daily lives and realizing their dreams. We do this with the help of knowledge, innovative courage, and a forward-looking spirit. Welcome to contribute to the work towards our vision – to become the creative hub of the west coast.
The Social Services Department is responsible for providing support, care, and assistance to people at different stages of life. We work based on the individual's needs and offer interventions based on several laws, including the Social Services Act (SoL), the Act on Support and Service for Certain Persons with Disabilities (LSS), and the Health and Medical Services Act.
This can involve giving older people a secure and meaningful everyday life, supporting people with disabilities, or being there for children, young people, and adults in vulnerable life situations.
With us, you meet every individual with respect and professionalism. We collaborate across professional boundaries – both within our own department, with other parts of the municipality, and with external actors. To ensure quality and development, we actively work with follow-up, improvement work, and digitalization.
Here you make a real difference – every day.

Short-term residence within LSS (The Act on Support and Service for Certain Persons with Disabilities) offers children and young people with disabilities the opportunity for a change of environment, recreation, and social community, while also providing relief for relatives in their daily lives.
The purpose is to provide a secure and stimulating environment where the individual can develop their independence and have a meaningful leisure time.
Short-term supervision is also an intervention under LSS for children and young people over 12 years old who need supervision before and after school when guardians are working.
Personal suitability is highly valued, but it is desirable if you have:
- Experience working with youth/adults with disabilities.

Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for supporting the young people in their daily lives with care, leisure, and cultural activities.

Within the operational area, there is a support pedagogue who provides support, help, and supervision to you as a new employee.
We collaborate with other short-term residences, and work at other short-term residences/short-term supervision will occur as we work across boundaries.
The work is scheduled during daytime, evenings, weekends, and on-call sleeping duty.
