During the years 2024–2028, Tranås Municipality is implementing a targeted, cross-administrative initiative for the municipality's youth. The overarching purpose is to create a secure upbringing for the children in the municipality. Through the project Targeted Measures for School Attendance, new working methods are being created where health-promoting and preventive work in collaboration are the key words.

DUTIES

You will help continue to shape the project's working methods, with your main task being to work with a focus on the youth's motivation for school and leisure activities. The work will take place at both group and individual levels, aiming to promote meaningful schooling and leisure time for the children.

At the group level, this involves group activities and information for students at the school, both during and after school hours. During school hours, you will work at the individual level with specific children to increase their motivation and desire to attend school by offering activities that are not part of the school's regular operations, where the child gets the opportunity to shine.

In addition to contact with the children, the work involves significant interaction with guardians. The role includes participating in driving cross-school projects and working compensatorily to act as a bridge between children/guardians and various actors within the municipality and the leisure sector.

You initiate and participate in collaborative projects for and with children and young people, together with other actors within the Culture and Leisure Administration, such as the library, swimming pool, and music school. You will also collaborate with the Individual and Labour Market Administration, sports clubs, and others. Since the project collaborates closely with the municipality's youth activities, assignments may also occur within that sector.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a post-secondary education in social or pedagogical work, or alternatively, other education or experience that the employer deems relevant for the assignment. It is meritorious to have a local network and knowledge of the municipality's work with children and young people, as well as the municipality's club life. In addition to education and professional experience, we would appreciate it if you had skills or interests that could increase the overall competence in the work group.

ABOUT THE WORKPLACE

You will be part of a team consisting of five people, including one project manager. The group collaborates closely with the common mission to work preventively and promotively with a focus on school attendance. The arena is largely the school, but the direction is to think broadly and include both the leisure sector, the Individual and Labour Market Administration, and civil society.
