Description

School District 1 in the Northeast comprises three schools: Bergumsskolan F-9, Gunnilseskolan F-6, and Björsaredsskolan F-3. These are located in the scenic Bergum-Gunnilse area with good bus connections. Nearby you will find excellent hiking trails, cycle paths, a golf course, as well as good services, shopping, culture, and sports facilities in Angered Center. In the school district, a total of approximately 1,100 students attend school, and more than 130 staff members work at our schools, including personnel in school kitchens and cleaning services.

At Bergumsskolan in Olofstorp, approximately 800 students attend from preschool class up to grade 9. The staff consists of about 80 employees, including teachers, student health services, and other support functions. For many years, the school has followed a systemic values-based approach and attitude, working actively to promote and prevent issues in order to maintain a calm, safe, and pleasant school and workplace for everyone. The school also has a special needs education group (SU) for students in grades 4–9, and we are now looking for an additional employee for this group.

Responsibilities

The students in our SU groups are divided by stage into grades 4–6 and grades 7–9. You will be part of the team working with the SU groups alongside other teachers and teaching assistants. Together, you will work to strengthen the students' learning processes and create a good learning environment. Your responsibilities include planning, implementing, and following up on your subject teaching carefully. You are also expected to participate in the school's development work together with other colleagues and be open to new ideas and suggestions.

The position is a permanent employment starting at the beginning of the academic year in Autumn 2026.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified primary school teacher with the qualification to teach mathematics and at least one other core subject (Swedish or English) for grades 4–9. If you have additional subject qualifications, this is an advantage.

The work requires good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, familiarity with the school's governing documents, and good computer skills. Experience working with students with special needs and NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) diagnoses is a requirement.

As a person, you gain energy from contributing to others' learning and creating conditions for learning to take place. You have the ability to explain problems and information to different recipients and from different perspectives. You encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement. Furthermore, you must have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. You understand the common mission, act accordingly, and contribute to the whole. To succeed in the role, we see that you seek and seize opportunities to think differently in work-related contexts and have the ability to put this into practice. You keep yourself updated through environmental scanning and regularly reflect on what needs to be developed and improved, both in your teaching and in the operations as a whole.

Does the above description sound like you?

We warmly welcome your application!

The position will be filled subject to the condition that it is not taken by internal candidates.

Other Information

As an employee in our administration, you are offered among other things a wellness allowance, a bike benefit, and employee support.
