These are two smaller schools with approximately 140 students each and an after-school care department at each school. We welcome you if you are trained as a special educational needs teacher, but also if you are a licensed teacher with primary/lower secondary school qualification and have started, or wish to start, special educational needs training.

For those who wish to further educate themselves, there is an opportunity to combine work and studies. You will receive a full-time position with 100% salary, where 20% of working hours are allocated for studies. The employer also covers course literature.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a special educational needs teacher with us, you play an important role in creating good conditions for students' learning, development, and security. You work based on analysis and plan, implement, and follow up support measures at both individual and group levels. The work takes place in close collaboration with teaching teachers, the student health team, and school management.

The assignment is characterized by trust in your professional assessment and a shared responsibility for the students' development and goal achievement. You are part of the school's student health team as well as Strömstad Municipality's special educational needs team.

The assignment includes:

• Collaborate and coordinate with the schools' special needs teachers
• Teach students individually or in small groups
• Assess students' need for special support and conduct pedagogical assessments and reading and writing assessments
• Plan, implement, and follow up special educational measures within reading and writing acquisition or mathematics
• Work preventively to identify students at risk of reading and writing difficulties or mathematics difficulties early on
• Mentor and support educators in adaptations, extra support, and didactic strategies
• Mentor and support teachers in working with extra adaptations and accessible learning environments
• Actively participate in the student health team's work with analysis, assessment, and follow-up
• Collaborate with guardians and, if necessary, external actors

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are trained as a special educational needs teacher, or alternatively a licensed teacher with primary/lower secondary school qualification, who has started, or intends to start, special educational needs training.

It is meritorious if you have experience working as a special educational needs teacher in primary/lower secondary school. It is also meritorious if you have experience with assessments, pedagogical assessments, reading and writing assessments, as well as work with support measures at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

You have a good understanding of how to create accessible and inclusive learning environments and work actively to ensure that teaching is equal and adapted to each student's prerequisites. With a holistic perspective on the operations, you see how your work contributes to the school's common goals and development.

As a person, you are relationship-building and find it easy to build trust with students, guardians, and colleagues. You thrive in collaboration with others, are happy to share your knowledge, and see the value in developing operations together.
