The Adapted School in Ulricehamn Municipality, part of the Tingsholm school district, offers education to students with intellectual disabilities, carefully tailored to each student's individual prerequisites – from primary school to upper secondary and adult levels. The operation is based on the same structure as primary school while also covering special subject areas that promote students' motor skills, communication, daily activities, aesthetic development, and perception of reality. Here, every student has the opportunity to develop in a safe learning environment where participation, learning, and hope for the future are central.

Following participation, together with seven school municipalities, in the research program "Knowledge Assignment" within adapted school (KASK), organized by IFOUS, we have consciously developed a focus on the student's development and learning in both school and after-school care. Job Responsibilities

Your task is to teach students following the curriculum for adapted primary school in subject areas for grades 1-9 and potentially for the individual programs of the adapted upper secondary school. You plan and conduct teaching based on each student's abilities, create good conditions for learning, and stimulate and challenge students' development and learning.

As one of the educators, you, together with your colleagues, are responsible for providing students with the pedagogical and social support they need. This may mean that, as a teacher, you also perform certain tasks usually assigned to a teaching assistant.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified preschool teacher and have work experience within preschool, school/adapted primary school. It is meritorious if you are educated as a special needs teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities and have knowledge of alternative communication. Knowledge and experience in working low-affectively with students with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) is also meritorious for the position.
