Special Educator for Preschool in Kristianstad Municipality

We are looking for a special educator who is eager to work with school development and has a good ability to connect children's health, development, and goal achievement according to the preschool curriculum. The area consists of five preschools, three of which are located in Näsby, one in Österslöv, and one in Arkelstorp. You will have the opportunity to work in a special educational team with two other special educators and collaborate closely with four principals.

Your Role Here

As a special educator in the preschool, you work at the organizational level, collaborating closely with the other two special educators and four principals. You work close to the operations in children's groups, focusing on preventing and promoting learning at both group and individual levels. This involves identifying, analyzing, and contributing to the preschool's work to prevent difficulties and remove obstacles in the learning environment in collaboration with the teams.

Furthermore, you provide special educational competence and proven experience to educators regarding documentation such as mapping, adaptations, and action plans. Being a qualified conversation leader who works in a supervisory and consultative manner regarding pedagogical issues is part of the role.

You contribute with positive, solution-focused, and clear leadership, highlighting success factors and areas for development in a team focused on what benefits children's development. You provide special educational competence and proven experience in contact with guardians and external actors to achieve a shared view of the child's support needs.

Who Are We Looking For?

You must have a preschool teacher degree and a special educator degree. Experience working as a special educator in preschool for a few years is meritorious, as is experience working in a multicultural area. We would appreciate it if you had experience with language-developing and translingual approaches.

We want you to have experience in successfully working with children with concentration, attention, and interaction difficulties, as well as various learning difficulties. You need to be well-versed in the preschool's steering documents and mission, especially regarding children in need of special support. The ability to map and assess needs and assist educators in preparing action programs is a prerequisite for the work.

Naturally, you also have good knowledge of children's cognitive, emotional, and social development, and we would appreciate it if you had good pedagogical competence. You have the ability to adapt your working methods to the conditions of different groups and individuals. We want you to be able to see the operations from a holistic perspective, seeing connections and focusing on the right questions, which means thinking outside the box and having a desire to develop yourself and a creative learning environment.

As a person, you are self-reliant with enthusiasm, energy, and passion for the work. In other words, you are good at taking initiative, working structured, driving, and achieving results. For the role, you need to have good collaboration skills – be relationship-building and relate to others in a listening and flexible manner.

Good IT skills and knowledge of compensatory alternative teaching materials are needed in your work. You also need to have worked with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) and have an easy time expressing yourself both orally and in writing. We would appreciate it if you had a B driver's license.
