Are you looking for a challenging and developmental role within orthopedics? We are currently looking for a nurse for our friendly clinic in Malmö!

The Orthopedics Business Area at Skåne University Hospital (SuS) has over 500 employees and is one of Sweden's largest orthopedic units. Our operations are conducted in both Lund and Malmö. Each year, we receive over 85,000 visits at our clinics and have approximately 6,700 inpatients. Our patient group includes both children and adults.

The orthopedic clinic in Malmö is sectioned so that teams for shoulder, foot, sports, back, trauma, and osteoporosis have their main operations based in Malmö. Approximately 600 visits are conducted at the Malmö clinic each week. Patients come to the clinic for new visits (assessment/investigation) and follow-up visits, for example, after a previous surgery. We work in teams around the patient to create the best possible care.

Job Description

We are now looking for a nurse who has an interest in orthopedics and wants to work with these patients. With us, you will get a varied and developmental clinic work within highly specialized orthopedics.

A central part of the role is surgical planning and preoperative preparation, where you inform, prepare, and coordinate before surgery. You work closely with doctors, assistant nurses, surgical coordinators, day care, and the ward, playing a key role in creating a safe and efficient patient flow. You handle patient counseling via phone and 1177, provide support before and after surgery, and handle urgent issues. You are an important contact for patients and relatives throughout the entire care process here at the orthopedic clinic.

The work is independent but takes place in close collaboration with other nurses, assistant nurses, medical secretaries, and doctors. The position is primarily daytime on weekdays but may also involve two weekend shifts per month. You will receive a structured introduction with guidance and support from experienced colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the eligibility to work within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are a requirement. Additionally, we would like you to have previous experience working with orthopedic patients, but this is not a requirement. Previous experience in clinic work is also considered meritorious. We use IT support extensively to facilitate care and free up time for personal meetings, so it is an advantage if you have experience working with Melior, Pasis, and Orbit.

Furthermore, it is a prerequisite that you always base your work on the patient's needs and that your approach is characterized by engagement and sensitivity.
