Christian 4's Gymnasium is a small school with a broad range of programs and a strong focus on students. Here, the aesthetic program and the social science program with an aesthetic profile meet in a creative and safe environment. A central part of our operations is the introduction program in close cooperation with the Municipal Activity Responsibility (KAA), where we work with students who have not always had a straight path through the school system. We also have an introduction class for students with neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF) as well as a smaller part of RH-adapted education.

Your role with us

As a school nurse at Christian 4's Gymnasium, you are a central part of the promoting and preventive student health work, focusing on strengthening students' physical, mental, and social health. You work proactively to create good conditions for learning, well-being, and development for all students – regardless of program and individual needs.

An important part of the assignment is to carry out health-promoting and preventive work through health conversations, health education, and targeted measures based on current needs in the student group. You contribute medical competence to the student health team and actively participate in interdisciplinary work regarding students, where early interventions and a holistic perspective are in focus. The work may, for example, involve paying attention to mental ill-health, lifestyle issues, school attendance, and particularly supporting students in vulnerable situations, such as students within the Introduction Program and students with NPF.

The assignment also includes counseling and support to students, guardians, and staff on matters concerning health, lifestyle habits, and medical needs. You also have an advisory function towards the Municipal Activity Responsibility.

In addition to the health-promoting work, you are responsible for the school nurse's regular medical assignments according to current guidelines for the student health's medical intervention (EMI). This includes, among other things:

• Health visits and health checks
• Vaccinations according to national programs
• Medical record keeping and documentation
• Medical assessments and follow-ups
• Collaboration with external healthcare contacts as needed

You work in a structured and independent manner while being an active part of the school's work team and student health team together with social pedagogues, special needs pedagogues, special teachers, counselors, and social workers. Together, you create a safe and health-promoting school environment where the student's best interest is always at the center.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who are confident in your professional role with an interest in the health of children and young people, as well as health-promoting and preventive measures. You are a registered nurse with additional education in health and medical care for children and adolescents, or a district nurse or school nurse. It is an advantage if you have experience working as a school nurse and/or experience from working with children and young people. You are good at using digital technology as a tool in your daily work, and it is meritorious if you have experience with medical record programs.

To succeed in the role, you have a professional and empathetic approach with the ability to create good and trusting relationships. You find it easy to cooperate and work in teams while also being able to work independently. We also want you to be a careful and structured person with the ability to take responsibility.

When we want to offer you the position, it is required that you show an extract from the police's criminal record register so that we can employ you, according to regulations in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.
