Östby School is a multicultural school with just over 180 students. Some of the students attend Östby School's preparatory class for newly arrived students. Currently, there are students with approximately 25 different mother tongues at the school.

Östby School is a school with strong positive development! The values work, the engagement and influence of the teachers and students form the foundation for a good study environment characterized by security, study peace, and playfulness. For us, the school and the after-school center are important and meaningful places for both students and staff. We work to ensure that all students feel that they want to, dare to, and can succeed!

About the job

Your main task is to challenge students in their learning and support the student's knowledge development towards set goals, together with colleagues. In addition to planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching, you will, together with colleagues in work teams, work on developing the school based on our prioritized development areas.

Who are you

You are a certified teacher with qualifications to teach in grades 4–6, preferably also grades 1–3. Your ability to create good, trusting relationships with students is a prerequisite.

We are looking for you who are well acquainted with the subjects' purposes, abilities, and assessment criteria, and who are well versed in the school's view of knowledge and values mission. You have good knowledge and competence in digital and formative learning processes.

You have the ability to motivate and create situations that contribute to meaningful learning and accessible learning environments characterized by inclusion, variation, and participation. You have the ability to see and meet each student, base your work on what works, and have broad leadership and stimulation in teaching.

You see opportunities in close collaboration with others. Your learning in collegial learning is a matter of course. You reflect on and analyze your own teaching as a natural part of your practice.

You have very good ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are communicative and creative. We would like you to be able, willing, and brave to think and try new things together with others.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Conditions

Temporary position at 80% during the autumn term, starting August 11, 2026.

Extract from the Criminal Record

Before being offered employment, you as a candidate are required to present an extract from the criminal record when working in any of the following areas: school or preschool, work with children in other activities than school and childcare, work with children according to LSS, work at or in connection with HVB homes, work with the elderly or persons with disabilities. You order the extract via the Police's website. The extract must be presented before employment can begin.
