About the School

Practical Gymnasium in Limhamn offers students a concept where theory is interspersed with practical exercises both inside the school and out at workplaces. At Practical, we hold ourselves to high standards to create the best conditions for an educational and fun training. Our teaching is characterized by flexibility, proximity, and practical learning. Our program offering consists of five strong vocational programs: Construction & Infrastructure, Electricity & Energy, Hairdresser & Stylist, Vehicle & Transport, and the Natural Resource Program. Currently, the school has approximately 290 students and about 40 employees, which creates a secure and family-like atmosphere where "everyone knows everyone." Here, you become part of a tightly knit team that supports each other in daily life, and you get plenty of room to grow in your professional role. Your Role

As a vehicle teacher with us, you lead and inspire the next generation of mechanics and technicians. You will teach and supervise our students within the vehicle and transport program, focusing on car mechanics, and you will be part of a work team together with another vehicle teacher and a transport teacher. We see you as an important and driving force to develop both the program and the subject, with the students in focus and in cooperation with colleagues. In addition to profession-specific tasks, you, like other teachers at the school, have duties such as mentor, and together you and your colleagues coach the students both socially and academically through their three years at Practical Gymnasium. We communicate primarily through Schoolsoft, and we work in a Google environment by sharing digital documents, calendars, and plans. The position is full-time with a start date to be agreed upon.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have genuine drive and thrive on change and development. You are pedagogical, patient, enjoy collaboration, and have the ability to create security and study calm. Several years of professional experience from the vehicle industry as well as relevant vehicle technical education. It is a big plus if you are a certified vocational teacher in vehicle subjects, but we place great importance on personal qualities, and if you have the right personality and industry experience, we can offer support to study pedagogy. You and the school principal will jointly draw up a plan for how you can become certified in the shortest way. The duties include contact with business life as part of the students' study time consists of workplace-based learning (APL), and therefore good communication with employers is meritorious.

What We Offer

The health and well-being of our employees is important to us. Therefore, at our schools, employees are offered benefits such as a wellness allowance of 5000 SEK/year, parental pay, and occupational health care.

In addition, Practical Gymnasium offers internal training for newly hired non-certified teachers and has an ongoing cooperation with various national higher education institutions that offer further education for teachers (VAL) to support our teachers in becoming certified.
