We are looking for a highly motivated Industrial PhD candidate to bridge the gap between cutting-edge academic research and industrial application. In this role, you will be employed by Einride Autonomous Technologies while being enrolled as a PhD candidate at the University of Gothenburg.

Your research will focus on exploring and devising methodologies to establish Foundation Models as experienced co-workers to evaluate and improve the safety of autonomous systems – during development and in operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research & Innovation: Drive high-impact research within the context of the EASe project (Evaluate Autonomous Systems with Foundation Models) that aligns with Einride’s strategic goals and meets highest academic standards.
• Doctoral Educational Progression: Complete required PhD coursework.
• Knowledge transfer: Act as the primary link between the company’s R&D team and the university research group.
• Dissemination: Author scientific papers for international journals and conferences under the guidance of the supervision team.

Qualifications and requirements:

• Master’s degree in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in linear algebra, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis.
• Experience in C/C++ and Python, and experience with practical deep learning frameworks, such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Strong problem-solving skills, and a desire to combine theoretical depth with practical industrial problem-solving.
• Team player. You can take ownership and work with the team to deliver great outcomes.
• Great communication skills. Fluency in English (both verbal and in writing) is mandatory.
• Must meet the entry requirements for admittance to doctoral studies at the Graduate School at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the University of Gothenburg (cf. eligibility criteria below).
