Native English Teacher with Study Support Duties

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, we combine two important functions for our students' development. Your main task is as a native English teacher, but the position also includes a smaller portion of study support duties.

Native Language Instruction: As a native language teacher, you teach students in English as their native language and contribute to pedagogical development work. At our Multilingualism Unit, we work based on themes. This means that the entire unit jointly starts from selected themes, creating a red thread for the students and rich opportunities for collegial collaboration. You are expected to implement these common themes in your teaching based on the curriculum goals (Lgr22).

A smaller part of your role involves working as a study support assistant. In this capacity, you act as a linguistic bridge and support students in various school subjects in English, enabling them to grasp the subject instruction. This work is always carried out in close collaboration with the school's subject teachers.

Our collegial work takes place on Tuesday mornings.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has very good knowledge of English, both linguistically and culturally.
• Has very good knowledge of the Swedish language (equivalent to Swedish 3/Swedish as a Second Language 3) as collaboration with subject teachers and documentation in our systems take place in Swedish.
• Has substantial teaching experience and is well-versed in the Swedish school's steering documents (Lgr22).
• Has the ability to work thematically. You can plan and conduct teaching based on common themes and see synergies between different subject areas.
• Is development-oriented and sees collegial learning as a natural part of your work.
• Has personal suitability for the assignment, where we particularly value your ability to build good relationships with students and colleagues.

Desirable: It is desirable that you have a Swedish teaching license with eligibility in native language English.

Advantageous:

• Has an academic education with a pedagogical focus.
• Experience in study support in the native language.
