Job Description
Companion service is an intervention under the LSS Act (the Support and Service Act for Certain Functionally Disabled). These interventions are decided by an LSS case worker who approves a number of hours per month. The scope and content of the support are designed individually.
Your task is to provide the individual with personalized support to enable participation in society, leisure activities, or cultural life, visiting friends, or simply going for a walk. An important purpose is to break social isolation. The design and content are adapted to the person's conditions, interests, and needs.
Qualifications
We welcome both those with previous experience as companions and those who want to try something new. Individual matching is done for each assignment based on the individual's wishes and needs.
Requirements to be considered:
- Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Merits:
- Experience working with people with functional variations.
- Basic knowledge of various diagnoses covered by the LSS Act.
- Education in areas related to intellectual disability or other specific diagnoses.
- Experience with clarifying pedagogy, low-affective approach, and working with clarity and structure in everyday life.
About You
As a person, you are sensitive, flexible, responsible, and humble. You have a good ability to understand and put yourself in other people's situations and focus on the current need. You need to have good planning skills and be engaged, seeing opportunities rather than limitations.
We are looking for companions for three different assignments where it is advantageous if you are interested in agricultural machinery, creative creation, training, and outdoor activities. Great emphasis is placed on the personal qualities required for the specific assignment.
Other Information
To work within the LSS framework, it is legally required to present an extract from the criminal record. The employment is for a fixed term. Tomelilla Municipality has smoke-free working hours.
Employees are sought on the condition that the position does not have to be taken by existing staff or persons with priority rights.
