Welcome to the Foster Care Department at the Employment and Social Administration!
Section Inner City 2 and South 2, within the Foster Care Department, is now looking for two Foster Care Secretaries. This involves one permanent position and one fixed-term contract.
Job Description
In these roles, your main responsibility is to recruit and investigate prospective foster homes, contact persons, and contact families, as well as to supervise, support, and motivate foster families in ongoing placements in collaboration with child welfare secretaries. You will also handle contracts and finances.
As a Foster Care Secretary, you will collaborate closely with colleagues in your own team, as well as with other internal colleagues and external partners. Since many children are placed in foster homes throughout Skåne, but also outside Skåne, the job involves a significant amount of travel, primarily by car. Evening work may occur.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a degree in social work, previous experience in social work, and a genuine interest in working with the target group of children and families.
We would prefer that you have several years of experience in social work after your graduation, previous experience working with children and young people, foster care, and preferably experience in investigative work, supervision, and authority exercises according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU). If you also possess knowledge of or experience with MI, Signs of Safety, or Lifecare, it will facilitate your work. A B-class driver's license is a requirement.
Merits for the role:
- Training in the Kälvesten Method
- Supervisor Training
The job places high demands on your ability to build good relationships with the children and families you meet. To succeed in the job, it is also required that you collaborate well with other parties, both internally and externally, and that you can easily adapt to changed circumstances and situations. You will meet people with different experiences and histories; therefore, it is important that you are sensitive and can listen to the person you meet to create good contact. We also see that you have a good ability to structure and can plan, organize, and prioritize your work independently.
Since the work largely involves communication and collaboration, it is a requirement that you can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
About the Workplace

The working groups consist of child welfare secretaries and foster care secretaries with access to close supervision by the section chief and senior social secretary.
We are now recruiting for two different units that are currently located at two different addresses, but from autumn 2026, both units will be located at Hålsjögatan 8.
We offer you as an employee an individual introduction program within the operations as well as continuous internal and external supervision. You also participate continuously in other competence development such as lectures and training. You are also offered a wellness allowance, flexible working hours, and the possibility of holiday exchange.
