Job Description
We are looking for an engaged care pedagogue for our day activity program. We hope that you are our new colleague, and if you are ready for a new challenge, do not hesitate to apply for the position. The activity is aimed at individuals with severe or profound intellectual disabilities accompanied by significant motor impairments, offering group activities focused on sensory experiences.
The work involves activating and motivating participants in their daily activities. We work according to a clear and structured pedagogy that aims to make the world as clear and predictable as possible. Together with the rest of the staff, you will work on the planning, implementation, evaluation, and development of the activity. You are expected to participate actively in any change initiatives and constantly work in a solution-focused manner for the benefit of the participants. You are responsible for ensuring that pedagogical methods and approaches are implemented in the work with participants and keeping up-to-date with methods and approaches used within the LSS (Law on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) area, in accordance with scientific research and proven experience. As a care pedagogue, your role includes mentoring staff, leading teams, and quality-assuring implementation plans, action plans, and other documentation.
Responsibilities of the Care Pedagogue
We are looking for you who have a university or college degree (minimum a Bachelor's degree, 180 ECTS) in the behavioral sciences, pedagogical orientation, or another education that the employer deems relevant.
You have at least one year of experience working with individuals with severe or profound intellectual disabilities accompanied by significant motor impairments, as well as at least one year of work within the LSS sector. Previous experience with clear and structured pedagogy is highly valued, and we also appreciate experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). You have prior experience working with adapted interactions and challenging behaviors. You should have experience leading various pedagogical discussions based on each individual participant's needs, as well as writing implementation and action plans.
At our organization, it is important that you have a positive view of humanity, respectful interactions, and strong pedagogical skills. As a care pedagogue, you work in close collaboration with colleagues and participants, and together you create the content of the activity. You need to be flexible in your working methods, open to collaboration, and possess creativity.
Since you meet many different participants and colleagues, high demands are placed on social competence, independence, and self-confidence. Tasks may change and develop, and as an employee, you must be flexible, able to shift focus, take initiative, and make independent decisions. You are good at handling stress, have strong prioritization skills, can adapt to rapid changes and altered conditions. You have good computer skills and can express yourself in Swedish both verbally and in writing. You should have good knowledge of documentation. A valid Category B driver's license is an advantage.
