Responsibilities

As Associate Pastor at St. John's Parish, you will have a key role in driving and developing the parish's life – pastorally, strategically, and operationally – together with the Rector. You will be part of the parish leadership and play a vital role in shaping the future direction in close collaboration with colleagues, staff, and other parishes within the Church of Sweden Malmö.

In this role, you combine leadership, pastoral presence, and development work. You lead and inspire the parish's dedicated staff with the goal of creating good conditions for a vibrant parish life. Through your leadership, you contribute to strengthening and further developing worship, teaching, diaconia, and mission, while encouraging voluntary engagement and building relationships in the local community.

The role also includes clear pastoral responsibilities: leading worship, conducting teaching, providing pastoral care, and performing other priestly duties.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in the opportunities and challenges of a city church – and who sees the value in working in the heart of the city, where the church meets people in various life situations.

• Ordained as a priest according to the Church of Sweden's order
• Experience working as an Associate Pastor (Komminister) for a few years
• Documented leadership experience and leadership training are meritorious
• Qualifying Rector training is meritorious
