Do you want to combine your expertise in tax and accounting with a central role in a complex and international operation? We are now looking for an experienced Tax Economist for a qualified interim position with a well-respected player in the banking and finance sector.

As a Tax Economist, you will become an important part of the CFO function, responsible for tax reporting, regulatory reporting, and preparing annual financial statements for several companies within the operation. You will collaborate closely with internal specialists in tax and accounting and have ongoing contact with external auditors and international stakeholders.

In the role, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing and filing monthly VAT returns
• Reviewing and approving employer contributions and preliminary taxes
• Preparing and filing annual income tax returns
• Preparing and finalizing annual financial statements
• Calculating deductions for foreign tax, group relief, and dividends within the group
• Ensuring correct tax treatment in financial reporting in cooperation with central tax functions
• Preparing documentation and acting as a contact person for external auditors
• Contributing to the development and quality assurance of processes within tax and accounting

To be successful in this role, you need

• An academic degree in accounting, taxation, finance, business administration, or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience working in tax, audit, accounting, or related areas
• At least 5 years of experience in closing processes and preparing annual financial statements
• Good knowledge of Swedish tax regulations, including corporate tax and indirect taxes
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and their connection to tax management
• Experience from financial institutions, preferably within asset management
• Very good communication skills in both Swedish and English
• Meritorious: Experience with international tax issues
• Meritorious: Experience with transfer pricing
• Meritorious: Experience with group reporting and consolidation
