We are community builders, public authorities, and providers of services with the citizen's best interests at heart. Our vision is summarized in the slogan "Worldly and Home-loving" – we are open, innovative, and proud of our local heritage.

About the workplace

Väderstad School is a school with an attached after-school center located in the community of Väderstad. We have approximately 17 employees and are responsible for about 125 students from preschool class to Year 6. The school has partially newly renovated facilities and a large, inviting schoolyard that offers varied opportunities for activities. Our staff includes teachers at the beginning of their careers as well as experienced colleagues, creating a good balance between curiosity and expertise.

About the position

Are you the new colleague we are looking for in Year 1? We offer a permanent position where you will help shape the education for our youngest students. Together with your colleagues, you will work systematically to develop the school and support student learning.

Your responsibilities

In your role as a teacher, you will work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the national curriculum. You view the student's entire school day as important and therefore collaborate closely with both guardians and colleagues, including the staff at the after-school center, to create the best conditions for every student.

You are expected to:

  • Create varied and challenging teaching that meets the requirements of the Schools Act, curriculum, and course plans.
  • Use digital tools as a natural part of your teaching.
  • Be subject-matter knowledgeable, mentor students, plan and lead teaching, and assess knowledge development.
  • Promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection.
  • Work systematically to develop the school within a team.

Your qualifications

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • A Primary and Lower Secondary Teacher Education degree with a focus on preschool class and Years 1–3.
  • Teaching certification.
  • The ability to speak clearly and project credibility and self-confidence.
  • The ability to plan and organize your work and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Good ethics and sound values, where you advocate for equal opportunities.

We are large enough to offer good working conditions and exciting development opportunities, but small enough to foster close collaboration, participation, and influence.
