Student Assistant for Bjälbotullskolan in Skänninge

The Education Administration is one of Mjölby Municipality's six administrations and is responsible for preschool, compulsory school, upper secondary school, adapted compulsory and upper secondary school, and adult education. With approximately 1,000 employees, we offer education that promotes all children and students in lifelong learning, working according to the direction "high knowledge results in a school where everyone can and wants to be". We place great emphasis on working close to the operations through regular dialogue and support for school leaders and teachers based on the chain of command.

Bjälbotullskolan is a school with an associated after-school center located in Skänninge. Approximately 25 people work at the school, and together we are responsible for approximately 200 students from preschool class to grade 6. Our staff group includes teachers at the beginning of their careers and teachers with many years of professional experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a student assistant with us, your primary task is to be the bridge between knowledge and the student's ability. You work as a close pedagogical support in teaching and ensure that the school day becomes understandable and manageable. You use visual aids and signs as natural supports in daily communication. The assignment may include interventions necessitated by medical-physiological, psychosocial, or learning needs of the students. The assignment may also involve working as a support person for several students at the school, both in teaching, between lessons (e.g., recess, in the cafeteria), and at the after-school center.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have upper secondary education as a childcare worker or vocational training as a student assistant. If you have experience in similar assignments, it is an advantage. You have a good ability to work with other people, to listen, and to be empathetic and respectful. You are also unpretentious and notice and reward others' contributions. In your role, you have a good ability to create and maintain relationships, and you collaborate well with people in different roles and contexts.

You have the ability to adapt to changed conditions and you encourage and support change work. You are secure and have the ability to perform in a pressurized environment and handle difficult situations. You remain optimistic in the face of challenges and have the ability to relate constructively to feedback.

Fixed-term employment with the possibility of extension.
