Are you a secure adult who is passionate about creating meaningful days where play and learning meet? At Blästadsskolan, you have the chance to shape the future in an environment that radiates community and joy of nature. Welcome to Blästadsskolan!
Your responsibilities
In your work at the after-school center, your task, according to the curriculum, is to stimulate students' development and learning, as well as offer them a meaningful leisure time. Together with the work team, you plan, implement, and document the pedagogical work at the after-school center.
As a childcare worker, you have knowledge of the after-school center's curriculum and other current regulatory documents. You follow the norms and values specified in the curriculum and contribute to implementing the organization's mission. The activity should be based on the students' needs, interests, and experiences, but also ensure that students are continuously challenged further by being inspired to new discoveries. In teaching, students should be offered a variety of working methods, forms of expression, and learning environments that integrate care and learning.
In your role as a childcare worker, you are expected to be able to work with both entire student groups and individual students. Your duties also include maintaining ongoing conversations with the students' guardians regarding their well-being, development, and learning.
Your workplace
Blästadsskolan is a multifaceted operation consisting of primary school grades F-6, after-school centers, a resource school focusing on hearing impairment, adapted primary school grades 1-6, and after-school centers. The school is located in the southern districts of Linköping and has nature right at its doorstep. The schoolyard borders beautiful oak forests, walking areas, and grassy fields that offer an inspiring environment for play and learning. There are approximately 400 students at the school, and around 100 employees work here.
Blästadsskolan's approach is a relational perspective that should permeate the operation. In a relational perspective, actions and environments are important to examine to understand how and why people end up in difficulties, as it is believed that difficulties arise in the situation. The focus is on shaping the learning environment and teaching so that it meets the different needs of all students. The relational perspective is based on a democratic citizenship perspective, equal rights, participation, and an accessible society.
Together, we create joyful learning situations where each student is given the opportunity to develop based on their individual prerequisites and abilities. We have high expectations of the student's ability, and the work with adjustments in teaching is the focus of our school development plan.
Everyone working at Blästadsskolan should show generosity and consideration to promote good community and cooperation for a pleasant working environment. Blästadsskolan should be a school that provides security and good knowledge.
We have age-homogeneous after-school center departments for grades F-2: Jaguaren, Leoparden, and Tigern, as well as Pantern for grades 3–6. The after-school centers' activities offer both structured and spontaneous activities that are based on the children's needs, own wishes, and the group's needs. The work at the after-school centers is permeated by common themes as well as weekly and age-crossing activities.
You who apply
It is a requirement that you, as an applicant, have an education as a childcare worker from adult education or have completed the Child and Leisure program at upper secondary school. It is also a requirement that you have experience working with children in curriculum-based activities as an employee, through practice, or voluntarily.
Furthermore, it is a requirement that you have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you must organize and carry out the work so that the child receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that every child can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Previous experience working with students in middle school, grades 4–6.
- Experience working in after-school centers in grades F-3.
- Knowledge of neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD).
- Knowledge of sign language (which is especially valuable as we have a resource school focusing on hearing impairment).
In your role as a childcare worker, you build good relationships and collaborate well with children, colleagues, guardians, and other contacts that occur in your professional role. You have a good understanding of human differences and relate to them in a listening manner in teaching and school life. You lead the work with children through motivation, engagement, and participation. The role also involves working with current goals and quality standards for the school together with your colleagues.
In this recruitment process, we use tests in the selection.
