Vittra Schools is one of Sweden's leading independent school companies, with 24 preschools and primary schools across the country. Together, we are responsible for approximately 8,000 children and students and employ around 1,000 staff members. We started our first school in 1993 and have been part of AcadeMedia, the largest education company in the Nordics, since 2008. Vittra is a socially engaged preschool and primary school where children and students learn about themselves and the world. With us, conscious children and students are formed, given the right tools and knowledge to create a better and more sustainable society. We achieve this through our unique pedagogical approach based on three pillars: conscious learning, courageous culture, and clear structure.
Vittra Adolfsberg is a primary school that has gone “from chaos to success” (see articles in Framtidens karriär 2022-10-04 and Helsingborgs Dagblad 2021-10-11).
We offer you:
Vittra Adolfsberg is a school where many cultures blend, and where you, as an adult role model, make a difference every day together with the students and your wonderful, engaged colleagues. We are a parallel school with approximately 240 students from preschool class to grade 9, with class sizes of around 22–25 students.
Our school climate is characterized by warmth, joy, humor, seriousness, community, collaboration, and engagement. We are a resource-rich school where every individual is incredibly important, and no one ever works alone. Together, we build a safe and challenging environment where everyone—students as well as adults—can develop.
Currently, there are three full-time positions within special education at the school. One of these is now vacant, and we want to recruit a special needs teacher to our wonderful team. If our school and our way of thinking align with your expectations, we hope you will apply for the position.
In addition to being part of the school's student health team, we work school-wide in our collegial learning process, where all teaching teams participate together with the student health team and school leadership. For us, collaboration is a crucial factor in creating teaching, a learning environment, and a relational climate that leads to higher goal achievement.
We have had very low staff turnover for the past five years, and we know this is a workplace where people enjoy working. In our latest quality survey among staff, the following was highlighted:
100% of staff agree:
- that they are satisfied with their workplace
- that they find the work important and meaningful
- that they have good conditions to perform their duties
Our staff feel they have very good conditions to perform their tasks satisfactorily and have time to do so without stress. Furthermore, there is a wonderful sense of cohesion and plenty of laughter!
This is what your future students and colleagues are looking for:
You, as an applicant, are looking for a workplace that matches what we have described above. What is central to us—and what we seek in you, besides your subject knowledge and competence—is joy, humor, community, collaboration, and engagement. You are a person who prefers to talk about solutions rather than getting stuck in problems and difficulties.
You are a trained and licensed special needs teacher and feel confident in your role. You have experience working with students in need of special support across different ages. You have a positive attitude towards your work and are not afraid to show both creativity and humor.
You have the ability and willingness to build relationships with both students and adults. You enjoy collaborating and working with others to help colleagues identify and understand children's differences and needs.
You preferably have broad knowledge of various functional variations and children in need of special support. You have ideas on how you want to work together with other educators to create the best conditions for all students. Your student focus and relational perspective are clear and reflected in your daily approach.
In your professional role, you are engaged, professional, and proactive. You are also responsible and structured, with good ability to plan and prioritize your work effectively, and you have the ability to speak up and ask for help when needed.
You will work with student support at the organizational, group, and individual levels. We would appreciate it if you have knowledge of materials, methods, and approaches that help students create structure, clarity, and accessibility in learning.
You are part of the student health team and will play an important role in our work to develop student support services at the school, together with the team's other competencies. Currently, the team includes two special needs teachers, a counselor, a school nurse, and, to a lesser extent, a school doctor and school psychologist.
One of the most important things for us is that your collaboration skills are excellent. We are looking for a team player who can look beyond personal interests and where work for students is done in collaboration with others.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability, and interviews will be conducted together with representatives from the school's student health team.
