In Gislaved, we have a joint Student and Career Counselling (SYV) organization. We are located at different schools and share a common manager. The SYV organization consists of six people, and we have good and close cooperation with joint meetings.

The municipality has a work plan on how all staff at the schools should work actively to ensure that our students receive a better basis for decision-making for their future studies and career choices. Furthermore, there is a person working part-time as a School and Working Life Developer who, together with student and career counsellors and others, focuses on student and career guidance in a broad sense. This is a structured and systematic collaboration between school and working life throughout the student's entire school career.

Responsibilities

You will work as a Student and Career Counsellor at Nordinskolan in Smålandsstenar and Ölmestadskolan in Reftele. The position is a fixed-term appointment until 2027-04-30 with the possibility of extension.

Within the framework of your assignment, you will work with young people attending compulsory school and prepare them for the transition to upper secondary school and the educational choices they will make. Your duties will include, among other things:

• Conduct professional counselling interviews individually or in groups.
• Provide information in classes and to guardians.
• Collaborate with other professions within Student Health Services.
• Collaborate with educational providers.
• Collaborate with the business community.
• Work with guidance both in a narrow and broad sense, including together with the school's other staff.

You will work with student and career guidance based on the Education Act and current regulatory documents.

Qualifications

Trained Student and Career Counsellor.

You have good collaboration skills, are structured and stable as a person, and see the breadth of the entire operation. We would like you to have a relational approach and be able to see various exciting future possibilities together with the students. You find it easy to meet other people and have a desire to contact students, parents, and colleagues. To thrive with us, it is important that you have a genuine interest in other people with different backgrounds and from different cultures.

Your work is deeply linked to your ability to collaborate and participate in the development of yourself and the operation. With us, this means you have good cooperation with your manager and colleagues, both at your own workplace and in the rest of the municipal group. You treat everyone with a high level of service, kindness, and high quality through a customer and service focus. You take responsibility for becoming involved in operational matters and are solution-oriented.

We apply register checks (extracts from the criminal record) as a form of suitability assessment for all offered employment in operations where there is direct and regular contact with children and young people.

Interviews are conducted continuously during the recruitment process.
