Uppsala AG consists of two school units: Fyris and Jälla. By autumn, the school will have approximately 170 students and 100 employees. The current need is at Fyris AG, National Programme, which means that the teaching follows specific subject curricula but is fully adapted to the students' cognitive prerequisites. Here, you will use creative forms of expression to develop the students' abilities.

Description of Duties

You will primarily teach practical and theoretical subjects on our National Programme for Trade and Service. As a teacher, your duties include planning and conducting lessons, and you have overall pedagogical responsibility for the students participating in the education. You should be a support for the students and have a holistic view of the student's development.

As a teacher with us, you plan, conduct, and evaluate the teaching based on each student's unique cognitive and communicative prerequisites. Since our students have different needs, flexibility and the ability to differentiate instruction are crucial. You break down creative processes into clear step-by-step instructions. You use visual aids, sign support, concrete materials, and digital tools to create predictability.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified vocational teacher and qualified in the subjects of trade and service. You are also welcome to apply if you have experience from trade or service and are interested in working as a teacher, even if you do not yet have teacher certification. If you lack teacher certification, you are expected to be prepared to complete it concurrently with the job. It is an advantage if you have previously worked at an adapted upper secondary school. To succeed in the role, you need to have good industry knowledge and be able to contribute current perspectives from working life into the teaching. Experience in mentoring, training, or leading others is an advantage.

As a person, you are outgoing and socially active in your work. You find it easy to establish contact and maintain relationships. With good pedagogical insight, you understand that students have different prerequisites for absorbing knowledge. In your teaching, you adapt your way of conveying messages to the recipient. You often come up with ideas and new approaches to work-related issues. You have innovative thinking that can be put into practice and leads to results.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
