Gislaved Gymnasium has approximately 975 students divided into three sectors. The position will primarily be located at the Innovation Sector. This is a temporary position (substitute) for an employee who is on study leave, and it may be extended for an additional year.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will consist of typical special needs teacher/special pedagogical tasks such as assessments, formulating action plans, providing special pedagogical support to students in small groups as well as in the classroom, coaching conversations, supporting and mentoring teachers/teams regarding general and specific dilemmas, organizational planning, motivating and supporting students, providing structural support, and much more. You should be prepared to support students in several different subjects.

Your main affiliation will be with the Innovation Sector, and you will be placed in our study center, where all students at the school are welcome. Subject teachers also work at the study center according to a schedule.

You will be part of the sector's student health team, which works on developing structures that promote students' health, motivation, and learning.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a special needs teacher degree, preferably with a focus on mathematics, and have broad experience and competence in learning and teaching at the upper secondary level. You should have a solid interest in working with inclusive learning environments and a desire to work for a learning environment that meets the diverse needs of students. You are well-versed in the many different needs of students and what is required to meet these needs effectively within the framework of the upper secondary school's conditions. You have the ability to motivate and find new paths/solutions to help students reach their goals. You meet students with curiosity and interest, have great patience, and show a good understanding of the different prerequisites of all individuals with the aim of helping students reach their goals.

As an employee, you are proactive, result-oriented, self-reliant, and flexible, but also receptive and analytical. You are secure in your professional role, skilled at building good relationships, and collaborating with students, guardians, teachers, and other staff. You are well familiar with the upper secondary school's governing documents and current research in the field. We place great importance on personal suitability as you will become an important part of the school's future work.

Your collaboration is deeply linked to your ability to cooperate and participate in the development of yourself and the operations. At our workplace, this means you have good cooperation with your manager and colleagues, both at your own workplace and within the rest of the municipal group. You treat everyone with a high level of service, kindness, and high quality through a customer- and service-focused approach. You take responsibility for involving yourself in operational matters and are solution-oriented.

We apply register checks (extracts from the criminal record register) as a form of suitability assessment for all those offered employment in operations where there is direct and regular contact with children and young people.
