Job Description

We are now looking for a Physical Education and Health teacher for grades 1–6 to join Gullviksskolan!

You will be part of a team of teachers where you will together plan, implement, and follow up on teaching, as well as be responsible for the students' education and development. Together, you will decide on any need for subject integration or project studies in your classes. The focus of the work is to create the best conditions for each student in a safe and trusting learning environment.

The role includes planning teaching, conducting teaching, and assessing students' knowledge development. You evaluate and develop the pedagogical work based on the school's governing documents as well as the students' needs and interests, both independently and together with the work group. You conduct modern and creative teaching where you find strategies to reach every student and strengthen them in both knowledge development and personal growth.

You will teach students in grades 1–6 of the primary school in Physical Education and Health and support the students in their social and knowledge development. You encourage students to take initiative, develop their interests, and take responsibility for themselves and others.

In addition to your teaching team, you collaborate closely with student health services, other school staff, and school leadership to create a good learning and working environment for both students and employees. You also actively participate in the school's development work.

The role may also involve mentorship for some of our students. As a mentor, you have a special responsibility for a group of students and follow their academic development and personal maturity over time. You maintain regular contact with guardians through, among other things, development conferences. Supervision of students may also occur within the position.

Qualifications

You who apply are a certified teacher with eligibility to teach Physical Education and Health for grades 1–6. If you have previous experience working as a teacher, we consider this a merit.

You have good insight into and knowledge of the school's governing documents and can use them effectively in daily work. Furthermore, you have good didactic and pedagogical competence and can lead and organize the work to create study peace and a good learning environment throughout the school day.

You develop your work based on evidence-based research and use relevant digital tools in a natural and purposeful way in teaching. You conduct modern teaching with a focus on meeting each student based on their needs and prerequisites.

Naturally, you have a professional attitude and work for good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. To thrive and succeed in the role, we see that you are engaged, responsible, and have good collaboration skills. You are secure in your professional role, structured in your work, and actively contribute to a positive work climate.

About the Workplace

Gullviksskolan is a K-6 school with approx. 315 students. The school is idyllically located within a residential area and has a nice outdoor environment with large green areas for the students to spend time in. In our strive to work for the best school for every student, we have been working for a couple of years based on IBIS, a structured approach where all school staff, from all pedagogical staff to school leadership, work together to clarify expectations, prevent problems, and strengthen positive behaviors.
