Do you want to work in an activity where every day is about creating joy, meaning, and structure? As a Support Assistant at Mimer, you will make a difference and contribute to creating participation and quality of life for our participants.

We work to create a safe, stimulating, and developmental day for our participants. Here, as a Support Assistant, you have an important role where, together with dedicated colleagues, you contribute to giving each individual a meaningful occupation and good quality of life.

Mimer is an activity house with different rooms for sensory stimulation and an active day. Our users come to day activities to change environment, find occupation, and experience sensory input. The activity offers a varied daily routine where we work to promote health and have the opportunity to conduct activities and excursions. The premises are spacious, and directly outside is an outdoor recreation area.

Working hours are weekdays from 07:30 to 16:00.

Description of duties

You provide support and service in accordance with the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and work to create structure, security, and participation in the participants' daily lives, with the goal that they can live as independent and meaningful a life as possible. As a Support Assistant, you play a central role in the participants' daily lives and work closely with them to provide support based on their individual needs. The work involves significant responsibility but also great opportunities to make a difference in people's lives.

Users may have extensive care needs and may be ambulatory or use a wheelchair, as well as require picture support for communication.

Your duties include, among other things:

  • Conduct activities with participants both in groups and individually
  • Collaborate with colleagues in daily work
  • Provide support during meals and toilet visits
  • Work with communication through speech, picture support, sign support, and body language
  • Document according to current legal requirements in Lifecare
  • Drive a minibus if needed

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a nursing assistant (undersköterska) or have an education within the Child and Youth program, or alternatively another education that the employer finds equivalent. Several years of relevant work experience may be considered equivalent to education. You need to feel confident using the computer as a tool, as documentation is part of the work.

Requirements for the position:

  • Completed education as a nursing assistant, childcare worker, or another relevant education
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
  • Good computer skills
  • Category B driver's license

Merits:

  • Knowledge of low-affective handling
  • AKK (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)
  • Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities

As a person, you are empathetic and have the ability to put yourself in other people's situations. You are calm and stable even in stressful situations and have the ability to focus on the right things. You are flexible and see possibilities in changes, and you have good collaboration skills where you relate to others in a listening and smooth manner. Last but not least, you have a good ability to plan and prioritize work efficiently.
