Social Secretary for Children and Family

Do you want to work with qualified investigative work for children and young people?

We are now looking for a Social Secretary to join our intake and investigation group within Children and Family in Älvkarleby Municipality.

Here, you will work in a operation where the best interests of the child are central, and where we value professional social work, collaboration, and development. We are a smaller municipality with short decision-making paths, close management, and good opportunities to influence both your own work and the development of the operation.

One of our strengths is the close cooperation between authority enforcement and open care. Through joint work regarding children, young people, and families, we create good conditions for early interventions, coordinated support, and sustainable changes.

Job Responsibilities

As a Social Secretary, your main task is to investigate the need for protection and support for children and young people according to the Social Services Act and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU).

The work includes, among other things:

• Conducting child welfare investigations.
• Assessing the needs of children and young people for protection, support, and interventions.
• Conversing with children, guardians, and networks.
• Collaborating with schools, police, healthcare, and other partners.
• Documenting and processing cases according to current legislation.
• Following up on decided interventions.

As part of the group's shared responsibility, you will also participate periodically in intake work and contribute to the group's collective work regarding incoming cases.

You will have close cooperation with the municipality's open care services, which provides good opportunities for joint assessments, early interventions, and coordinated support for children and families.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a degree in Social Work (Social Work Bachelor's or Master's).
• Has experience with authority enforcement within social services' child and youth care.
• Has good knowledge of social services legislation and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU).
• Has good communication skills in both speech and writing.
• Has a valid B-category driver's license.

It is an advantage if you have experience with child welfare investigations, work with placed children and young people, or intake work.
