Within the Care and Elderly Services Administration, full-time work is the norm. This means that all permanent employees are fundamentally employed on a full-time basis. More information about what this entails in this specific role will be provided during a potential interview. Personal assistants are exempt from the full-time norm.

We are now strengthening our units in Uppsala with more benefit caseworkers. Here, you will have a varied and meaningful role where you meet people in different life situations and contribute to the right support according to the Social Services Act. You combine public authority duties with collaboration and become part of a developing environment characterized by engagement, cooperation, and quality.
About the role
As a benefit caseworker, you work with public authority duties within elderly care. You are responsible for the entire case processing process, from application to follow-up, and make independent assessments based on legislation and current guidelines.
The work involves both meetings and conversations, but also extensive written work where you investigate needs, document, and make decisions in a legally secure and structured manner.
Your main responsibilities:
- Receive applications, investigate needs, make decisions, and follow up on measures.
- Document investigations and decisions in the case management system.
- Maintain ongoing contact with users, relatives, and others in the user's network.
- Collaborate with other administrations, authorities, and the region, for example, during discharge planning.
- Inform about legislation, rights, and the authority's mission.
- Keep up to date with the legal situation through environmental scanning and legal databases.
Qualifications
Formal requirements
- Degree in Social Work, graduation from the Social Care Program, or Behavioral Scientist with knowledge of Social Law.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Very good ability to work in digital operational systems and handle documentation and cases in a structured manner.
Meritorious
- Experience with public authority duties and case processing.
