Welcome to Kungsgärdet Health Centre!

We are currently looking for a registered health and social care counselor (counselor) who wants to work in our mental health team. This is a full-time fixed-term position starting on September 1, 2026, and ending on August 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension.

Your Role

You will be part of a team consisting of another counselor and three psychologists. Your area of work will be psychosocial ill-health that does not require the resources of specialist psychiatry. You will work independently with patients aged 18 and above.

Your responsibilities include:

• Conducting support conversations, counseling therapy, and advice to strengthen patients' resources to cope with and manage their life situations (e.g., during crisis and grief processing, as well as stress and burnout reactions).
• Counseling therapy can be conducted individually, in groups, or via internet and video calls.
• Individual psychosocial mapping and assessment.
• Supporting patients in navigating various social support resources.
• Writing certificates and referrals, and collaborating with other healthcare providers and authorities based on the patient's needs.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered counselor with experience in psychosocial work. Experience from health center work is desirable. To thrive in this role, we require that you have good collaboration skills, enjoy working in a team, but also possess the ability to work independently.

As a person, you are clear in your communication, structured in your work approach, and have good initiative. You have pedagogical skills and easily establish contact with both patients and colleagues. You enjoy developing operations and collaboration methods, both within and between health centers, as well as with our neighboring care providers.

Our Operations

Kungsgärdet Health Centre belongs to the Department of Close Care and Health in Region Uppsala and is located centrally in Uppsala. We have approximately 11,000 registered patients and around 50 employees. We offer most services within primary care, and everyone at the health center works to provide our patients with the best possible care. Our patients range from young families and students to elderly citizens. This makes working with us both varied and stimulating.
