Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for providing individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also operates closed youth care facilities. We operate youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. SiS LVM-hem Hornö receives men with alcohol, drug, or polydrug abuse issues. We also admit men with mental health issues and those exhibiting externalizing behaviors. Our mandate is to provide care for clients with special care needs.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating life-changing change for vulnerable people? Then the role of Treatment Assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge for you. As a Treatment Assistant, you work in a team alongside treatment educators and treatment coordinators. Together, you are responsible for ensuring that the clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often encounter people in crisis, which means you will engage in qualified nursing and motivational work, as well as providing daily support. Leveraging your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is a crucial part of your job, contributing to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You help maintain safety according to our routines and assist in keeping daily life running smoothly, including cleaning, cooking, and other tasks. The role may also involve mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you if you see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

The working hours are according to a night shift schedule.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS's basic training. The course alternates between theory and supervised introduction, preparing you for the treatment role in SiS operations.

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a solid and positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's core values, specifically being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and involvement among our clients. As a person, you are self-assured and easily build relationships with both clients and other staff members. You have strong communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You collaborate well with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

You must also have:

  • A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education. Exceptions to this educational requirement may be made for special reasons.
  • A valid Category B driver's license.
  • Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Meritorious qualifications include:

  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or within LSS (Support and Service Act for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) care.

Employment:

The position is a permanent employment on a 83.05% night shift basis, starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
