Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for providing individually adapted involuntary care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also operates closed youth care facilities. We do this through youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues located throughout the country. Working at SiS offers you a thrilling professional challenge. Regardless of where you work within our organization or what role you hold, you play a vital part in creating life-changing change.
SiS LVM Home Hornö admits men with alcohol, drug, or polysubstance abuse issues. We also admit men with mental health issues and those exhibiting acting-out behaviors. Our mission is to provide care for clients with special care needs.
Job Description
Do you want to make a life-changing difference for vulnerable people? Then the role of Treatment Coordinator at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a Treatment Coordinator, your base is on the ward, where you work in a team alongside treatment pedagogues and treatment assistants. Together, you support people in crisis and ensure that our residents receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. The work involves qualified nursing and motivational efforts where you serve as a strong support in daily life. This may also include being a key worker and helping to ensure daily routines run smoothly, such as cleaning and cooking. You actively contribute to maintaining safety according to our procedures and ensuring treatment plans are followed. In the role of Treatment Coordinator, you will also have overall responsibility for the institution's program activities. This means you plan, implement, and follow up on program activities on all wards where there is a need, collaborating closely with other Treatment Coordinators at the institution. You must also be able to conduct treatment conversations when necessary and have specific responsibility for documentation, treatment plans, and the forms and instruments used in treatment. Your duties include an extended responsibility to act as a methodological support on the ward, mentoring and supporting both existing staff and new employees and interns. This is a job for you if you see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.
Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our approach, our engagement, and our attitude.
You will work on a schedule covering days, evenings, and weekends.
As a new employee, you will undergo SiS's basic training. The course alternates between theory and guided introduction, preparing you for the therapist role within SiS operations.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is key to creating life-changing change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and involvement. Equally important is that you have a solid, positive view of humanity, are empathetic, and can build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have a good ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues. You must be able to plan and structure your work, work independently, and take initiative. Since treatment work is documented and discussed with various stakeholders, high demands are placed on good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing.
You must also have:
- Appropriate university education, such as a degree in social work, social pedagogy, or other care/behavioral science education, or alternatively post-secondary education such as treatment pedagogy, with substantial experience in program activities.
- Experience in conducting motivational and treatment work individually and/or in groups.
- Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing.
- Category B driver's license.
At SiS, we value good employee relations. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration.
