The role of a residential assistant at Inagården is largely a practical environmental therapeutic position. This involves working towards established treatment goals, documentation, active listening, and providing support to residents through professional interaction. You will assist them with daily tasks to establish a healthy daily routine and motivate them to participate in activities such as outdoor visits, exercise, swimming, cooking, and daily engagement.

Our Approach

At Inagården HVB, we work based on a relational and environmental therapeutic approach where relationships, security, and participation are central. We use everyday situations as tools for learning and development, focusing on creating stability, self-awareness, and new strategies for each individual.

In our work, we utilize clear pedagogy and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). This means we adapt the environment, routines, and communication to suit each person's needs. Through clarity, structure, and individual support, we create predictability and safety – which is particularly important for individuals with neuropsychiatric disabilities.

We also work with the "Independent Life" (ESL) program, which strengthens residents' knowledge and skills to increase independence in daily life.

A low-affective approach permeates the entire operation. By meeting individuals with calmness, respect, and understanding, we create safety even in challenging situations and provide space for recovery and reflection.

At Inagården Tärnsjö, there is also the opportunity to work with animals as part of the treatment process. Our horses, Cassie and Uno, contribute to calmness, responsibility, and relationship building.

Our work is grounded in experience, proven methods, and a strong value system – with the belief that all people can develop with the right support and interaction.

About You

We are looking for someone with a positive attitude towards people and a genuine interest in working with them. You are clear, stable, able to set boundaries, and serve as a good role model in both words and deeds. You have strong collaboration skills, great patience, and take responsibility for your work. You work flexibly and proactively.

You must be able to communicate well in both spoken and written Swedish, as this is important for documentation. You need to have good skills in collaborating within groups, both with colleagues and residents. Previous experience working with this target group is preferred.

Requirements: A 2-year post-secondary education in social pedagogy, treatment pedagogy, or similar.
