Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. SiS LVM-hem Hornö receives men with alcohol, drug, or poly-substance abuse. We admit men with mental health issues and men with acting-out behaviors. Our mandate is to provide care for clients with special care needs.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating life-changing change for vulnerable people? Then the role of Treatment Assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a Treatment Assistant, you work in a team together with treatment educators and treatment coordinators. Together, you are responsible for ensuring that the clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often encounter people in crisis, which means you will work with qualified nursing and motivational work, as well as providing support in daily life. With your knowledge of care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your job, contributing to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our routines and help ensure daily operations run smoothly with cleaning, cooking, etc. The role may also involve mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to schedule: day - evening and weekends.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training. The training alternates between theory and supervised introduction, preparing you for the treatment role in SiS operations.

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's core values, being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our clients. As a person, you are secure in yourself and easily build relationships with clients as well as with other staff members. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressurized situations. You collaborate well with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

You must also have:

  • A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education. Exceptions to this educational requirement may be made for special reasons.
  • Category B driver's license
  • Good Swedish language skills (spoken and written)

Meritorious experience includes:

  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS (Support and Service Act) care

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probation period. Start date by agreement.
