Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for providing individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS LVM-hem Hornö receives men with alcohol, drug, or combined substance abuse. We receive men with mental health issues and men with acting-out behavior. We are tasked with providing care for clients with special care needs.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating life-changing change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a Treatment Pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified nursing and motivational work and act as a support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work, contributing to legal certainty, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our routines and help ensure daily life runs smoothly with cleaning, cooking, etc. You are a Conflict Management Instructor, which also involves planning and conducting educational initiatives. Contact person duties and participation in various projects may also be part of your tasks. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns, as well as substituting for the group leader in case of absence. This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are daytime Monday-Friday.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training. The training alternates between theory and supervised introduction, and the training equips you for the therapist role in SiS operations.

Qualifications

As responsible for our educational initiatives in conflict management, you have a key role in translating steering documents and guidelines into practical work, from needs analysis to careful follow-up and documentation. We are looking for you who are skilled at planning and conducting training independently and who confidently lead groups with your good communication skills. To succeed, you have a solid positive view of people and the ability to create engagement and participation, while maintaining your calm even in pressured situations. You are a secure and structured person who shares SiS values and is motivated by supporting both staff and clients through constructive conflict management and pedagogical support.

You must also have:

  • A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work, or education from a university that we assess as equivalent
  • Category B driver's license
  • Good Swedish in speech and writing

Meritorious:

  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or within LSS care
  • Experience working with our target group (e.g., addiction care, etc.)
  • Experience leading groups
  • Experience in conflict management training.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
