Do you want to be a secure adult who makes a real difference in a young person's life? As a support assistant at our LSS short-term stay facility, you will work closely with a young person with neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF) and other disabilities – providing support, structure, and participation in their daily life. Here, you will use your calmness, sensitivity, and ability to truly see the individual.

Your responsibilities

We are looking for three support assistants for our short-term stay facility. Here you will meet a young person with intellectual disability, autism, and complex needs. You will become an important source of security as the young person needs predictability and stability.

In this role, you work closely with the individual and support moments that strengthen independence, security, and participation. You coach and motivate based on the young person's conditions and daily state, always with a low-arousal and respectful approach.

The work includes among other things:

• helping with simple cooking and practical daily routines
• participating in activities – for example, play, games, outdoor activities, or swimming
• documenting according to current regulations and creating implementation plans
• following up on individual goals and working systematically with participation
• collaborating in teams and participating in meetings, supervision, and training
• working at two or more units if necessary (joint planning)

You work with great respect for the young person's right to self-determination. The role requires that you are secure in yourself, patient, and not afraid to meet challenging behaviors. You are attentive, can read situations, and adapt your approach in a calm and professional manner.

Working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, and weekend, and one of the positions is scheduled for awake nights and weekends.

Your qualifications

For the position, we see that you have:

• education from the nursing program, child and youth program (focus on social and pedagogical)
• knowledge of low-arousal approach
• knowledge of clarifying pedagogy
• Good communication skills, can express yourself well in Swedish in speech and writing, have experience with documentation and basic computer skills.
• Category B driver's license

Meritorious experience includes:

• experience from LSS and the target group of children/young people with autism, ID, or challenging behaviors
• experience with PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and/or AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)

Stress tolerance – You maintain your calm even when emotions or behaviors become intense. You act stably and professionally, stick to the low-arousal approach, and create security even under pressure.
