The Elderly Care Department in Umeå Municipality is looking for a Business Developer with a focus on Data Protection and Information Security. In the role of Data Protection and Information Security Officer, you will work closely with the operations to develop, coordinate, and consolidate work in this area. The role is located within the Elderly Care Department's Digitalization Unit and involves an important task of creating working methods that strengthen data protection and information security in practice, together with managers, employees, and support functions.

About Elderly Care and the Digitalization Unit

Our unit consists of business developers, project managers, coordinators, administration managers, system administrators, and IT technicians who work together to develop and support elderly care in the area of digitalization – strategically, tactically, and operationally. The Digitalization Unit is led by the Head of Digitalization for Elderly Care, who is also your direct manager.

About the Role

As a Business Developer specializing in data protection and information security, you have an important task in developing a working method together with the operations that is both legally secure, sustainable, and practically feasible. The role is close to the operations and is not just about interpreting regulations, but about finding solutions that work in everyday life within legal and security frameworks. You lead and coordinate the work in the area, but do so in close collaboration with managers, employees, and municipality-wide functions. The assignment also includes operational work such as information classification, risk and impact assessments, and other operation-related analyses and materials. Therefore, the assignment requires that you can combine structure and analysis with a solution-oriented and collaborative approach.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, implement, and follow up on work with data protection and information security within Elderly Care
• Work closely with operations, managers, and support functions to translate legal and security requirements into working methods and solutions that work in practice
• Develop and improve processes, routines, and working methods in the area together with relevant operations
• Support management and operations in assessments, prioritizations, and decisions regarding data protection and information security
• Consolidate and further develop work with information security classifications as well as risk and impact assessments according to GDPR
• Contribute with guidance, training, and anchoring to strengthen knowledge and understanding in the organization
• Collaborate with operations, support functions, and municipality-wide functions, follow relevant external developments, and participate in networks

About You

We are looking for you who have good collaboration skills and are easy to create and develop relationships. You are solution-oriented and non-hierarchical, with a natural drive to find ways forward together with others. At the same time, you work independently and drive issues forward with a clear operational focus, always in close collaboration with others. You work in a structured and analytical manner, and feel confident in making well-balanced assessments within given frameworks.

You have the ability to structure complex issues and translate requirements within information security and data protection into clear and feasible working methods. Furthermore, you are communicative and pedagogical, and have the ability to create understanding and engagement even in complex issues. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements

• University degree in, for example, law, IT, systems science, or another relevant field
• Experience in driving and developing complex assignments in a larger organization
• Experience with information security and data protection
• Good understanding of both regulations and the practical needs of the operations
• Ability to combine analysis, support work, and practical implementation in assignments
• Fluent in Swedish (both spoken and written) and good knowledge of English
