Police District Västerbotten is one of the police districts in the North region and operates throughout Västerbotten County. The geographical area spans 15 municipalities. Police District Västerbotten is divided into three local police districts: Umeå, Southern Lapland, and Skellefteå. Within the local police district, there is operational and crime prevention activities, investigation groups, as well as support and service.

We are now looking for an administrator for a 1-year fixed-term position at the Police Service Center in Umeå.
Job Responsibilities
The Police Service Center is the face of the Swedish Police Authority and is often the first point of contact for the public, making it a crucial interface. The operation involves both law enforcement and a service function, accessible to both external and internal customers. Serving as an administrator at the reception is a significant role in strengthening trust in police operations by combining engagement, quality, and security in case handling with efficiency.
As an administrator at the Police Service Center, you will have an important role within the framework of the police's service mission. You will assist the public and work with police authority cases at the reception, among other tasks.
Main responsibilities:
- Process passport and identity card applications
- Receive and register reports from the public
- Handle found property
- Release seized items
- Receive permit documents and handle the submission and release of weapons
Additional duties may arise as the volume of cases can vary significantly.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- At least 1 year of recent work experience in customer service or public interaction through physical meetings, as deemed relevant by the employer
- A high school diploma or equivalent knowledge as deemed relevant by the employer
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Good computer skills and an aptitude for learning new IT systems
It is meritorious if you also:
- Have recent experience working in a reception or similar role as deemed relevant by the employer
- Have recent work experience in administrative roles as deemed relevant by the employer
- Have recent experience in service-oriented work as deemed relevant by the employer
- Have recent experience working within the police, another agency, or public administration as deemed relevant by the employer
- Master additional languages beyond Swedish and English as deemed relevant by the employer

As an administrator at the reception, we require engagement, accessibility, and efficiency. Since the work pace varies, we believe you thrive and are driven by this dynamic environment without compromising your attention to detail or customer service. We also believe you have a service-oriented and flexible attitude, along with good collaboration skills. Since the work is outward-facing and involves daily contact with people, we place great importance on your communication skills. We also look for someone who is structured and self-sufficient in their role.

Other Information
Work location: Umeå
Working hours: Weekly scheduled hours 5:2, with primary duties during daytime. Evening work occurs, while weekend work may happen in special cases.
