The Pre-school and Primary School Administration encompasses pre-schools, primary schools, and their associated operations. The administration is led by the Director of Education and employs approximately 3,700 staff members in total. Around 50 people work at our office within leadership, finance, HR, regulatory enforcement, and the administrative office.

Within the Finance Unit, there are currently 8 employees. Our task is to create the conditions for sound financial management and to support our managers and politicians with good decision-making materials in the financial area. Our task is also to lead, coordinate, and develop financial processes.

We are now looking for a temporary economist for our unit!

Your responsibilities

In this role, you will primarily work with follow-up and forecasting. Your work will largely involve meeting with principals, leaders, and managers to present and jointly analyze financial data. Through this, you will serve as an important support to both the finance manager and operational managers. The work is close to operations, and you will become part of developing the pre-school and primary school activities in Umeå Municipality.

The role may also involve some work with budgeting and annual accounts.

About you

We are looking for you who have a degree in economics or equivalent, as well as work experience. You have very good knowledge of Excel and good knowledge of other applications in the Office package. We would like you to have experience with financial or follow-up systems – for example, Hypergene, Visma, or similar.

Your personal qualities are important, and we want you to be communicative, careful, and structured, with good analytical and pedagogical skills. It is important that you can explain economics in a pedagogical way to those who are not economists. In dialogue with various stakeholders, you are receptive and unpretentious. You enjoy working both independently and together with others. You also have unrestricted knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
