The role of Support Assistant with us

We are opening a smaller unit where you will work closely with two tenants with complex needs and a high requirement for structure and life-enhancing interventions.

In the role of Support Assistant, you have an important function in creating safety, structure, and predictability in daily life. The work requires you to work methodically and with a low-affective approach, adapting your working style based on the individuals' needs and situations. You need to be confident working independently as solo work is common, and the position includes on-call duties with overnight stays.

The unit is located in the same building as a group and service housing, which means you may need to be flexible and provide support where needed during the day.

To ensure you have a good start, we offer a two-week introduction together with your colleagues. The introduction will include competence development in areas such as autism, IBIC (Individual-Based Intervention Coaching), low-affective approach, and other methods. The introduction is led by method developers with a focus on creating a safe and predictable work situation for you in your role.

In your work, you will have support from an engaged unit manager, support pedagogue, method developer, and wonderful colleagues.

Your profile

As a person, you are secure and stable and are genuinely interested in the target group. You work in a structured manner and use a low-affective approach. You treat others in a friendly and respectful way and are sensitive to the needs of both tenants and colleagues. You find it easy to collaborate and build good relationships with others.

You take responsibility for your tasks, plan and prioritize your work effectively, and ensure things get done. You are flexible, can adapt when conditions change, and are willing to take initiative when needed. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as this is required in daily work. Personal suitability will be given great importance.

We are looking for someone who:

• has a support assistant education or equivalent training relevant to the target group.

It is meritorious if you have/are:

• experience and knowledge of challenging behaviors
• knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
• trained in Studio 3 or similar.
• knowledge and experience of autism.

Our offer and other information

We offer a permanent full-time position with a start date according to agreement.

Within the Department for Individual & Family Care, all employees within Housing with Special Service and Support in the Home are employed full-time but have the possibility to reduce their working hours to the desired level based on operational needs.
