Ambitious Special Education Teacher in Swedish/SVA looking to unlock potential in more students.

Do you want to make a real difference in students' language and knowledge development? We are now looking for an engaged and driven special education teacher in Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) who wants to help develop teaching, learning environments, and special educational support in our organization.

About the Role

As a special education teacher in Swedish/SVA, you play a central role in the school's student health and development work. Your main task is to contribute, through teaching and special educational interventions, to ensuring that all students are given the best possible conditions to achieve the goals of the curriculum.

You will become part of a highly competent and engaged special education team that works closely together and in tight collaboration with school leadership, teachers, and the student health team. Together, you will drive the development of teaching, support measures, and inclusive learning environments forward.

The role involves both direct work with students and close collaboration with teachers, work teams, the student health team, and school leadership.

Responsibilities

In the role of special education teacher, you will among other things:

• Plan and implement special educational interventions and teaching in Swedish/SVA
• Work promotively and preventively to increase goal fulfillment
• Support and mentor teachers regarding:
• extra adaptations and special support
• language- and knowledge-developing approaches
• accessible learning environments
• special educational strategies and methods
• Participate in and lead collegial learning and pedagogical development forums
• Conduct assessments, analyses, and follow-ups of students' reading, writing, and language development
• Contribute to pedagogical investigations and action plans
• Conduct lesson observations and provide constructive feedback
• Provide special educational support in classrooms and in smaller teaching groups
• Work with students at risk of not meeting knowledge requirements, for example through intensive reading training and language support
• Collaborate closely with the student health team and school leadership within the framework of the school's systematic quality work
• Provide teaching within the framework of holiday school if needed

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a certified teacher with a special education degree
• Has qualifications and experience in Swedish and/or Swedish as a Second Language
• Has good knowledge of language- and knowledge-developing approaches
• Has experience in special educational work in primary school
• Is confident in mentoring and collaborating with colleagues
• Is comfortable working in a bilingual environment where both Swedish and English are used as teaching languages
• Has a solution-focused and inclusive approach
• Is structured, flexible, and has good collaboration skills
