Medical Secretary for the Emergency Department in Hudiksvall

We are a team of 20 permanent medical secretaries and a few substitutes who staff and support our units. Our medical secretaries' operational area covers the emergency department, internal medicine, cardiology, and paramedicine. Within the Hudiksvall Emergency Secretaries section, we work for the surgical, medical, and orthopedic departments. The team consists of six medical secretaries stationed at the emergency department.

The work at the emergency department includes day, evening, and weekend shifts. During on-call hours, we have an extended role regarding acute admissions compared to other departments. Job Responsibilities

As part of our team, you will gain valuable experience in a stimulating work environment where we collaborate to ensure efficient and high-quality healthcare documentation.

As a medical secretary, you will work with:

• Healthcare documentation and registration
• Diagnosis and procedure coding
• Quality work, monitoring that registration takes place in our various systems
• Manual and digital mail and referral handling, as well as preparation for scanning
• Standard tasks performed by a medical secretary

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are service-oriented and positive, with an interest and willingness to be part of the operations. You are stress-resistant and able to work independently, and in your work, you are flexible and have a good ability to collaborate.

In the role of medical secretary, you should:

• Be educated as a medical secretary, healthcare administrator, or physician's secretary
• Have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
• Be proficient in computer use

For this position, experience with our healthcare administrative system, Cosmic, is meritorious. Previous experience in the role is also meritorious but not a requirement.
