We are currently looking for an experienced educator for a course in Mathematics for Operators. The assignment targets students in university college programs (vocational higher education) and includes planning, delivery, and assessment of the course.

About the Assignment

The course aims to provide students with the mathematical knowledge and skills required to work as operators. The focus is on the practical application of mathematics in technical contexts, such as calculations related to energy, flows, pressure, efficiency, and technical processes.

The educator is responsible for:

• Planning the course structure based on established learning objectives.
• Conducting on-site teaching.
• Developing course materials and study guides.
• Creating and administering assessments.
• Grading and evaluating submissions and exams.
• Documenting course planning and collaborating with educational leadership.
• Supporting students throughout the entire course period.

Course Content

The teaching is expected to cover, among other things:

• Basic mathematics for technical applications.
• Algebra and equation solving.
• Unit conversions, SI system, powers, and prefixes.
• Proportions, scales, and technical calculations.
• Graphs and diagrams.
• Technical notation and formula handling.
• Calculations related to energy, efficiency, and operator technical processes.
• Interpretation of technical drawings and documentation.

Scope

• Course start: August 2026.
• Duration: Approximately 4 weeks.
• Location: On-site in Södertälje.
• Workload: Approximately 48 teaching hours, plus time for planning, assessment, and administration.

We are looking for someone who

• Has experience teaching mathematics at the upper secondary level, university college level, or equivalent.
• Has a good understanding of technical calculations and industrial applications.
• Has experience from operator technology, energy, process industry, maintenance, or related technical fields, or documented experience in educating within these areas.
• Is accustomed to planning and delivering courses independently.
• Has strong pedagogical skills and can make mathematics understandable and relevant for professionals and students.

Meritorious Qualifications

• Experience with university college (vocational higher education) programs.
• Experience with digital learning platforms such as Microsoft Teams.
• Experience with assessment and grading.
• Experience with training within energy, process, or operator technical operations.
