Do you want to help build the social services of the future?
There are jobs. And then there are jobs where you get to be the adult who actually makes a difference when life gets tough.
The social services are facing major changes – so are we.
We are a municipality that tests new approaches instead of sticking to “the way we’ve always done it”. Here, we are actively working to create a more sustainable social service – for both residents and employees.
This means, among other things:
- Fewer unnecessary administrative tasks
- Greater trust in the profession
- Digital working methods that actually facilitate work
- Close leadership
- Focus on quality instead of detailed control
We are now looking for a Social Secretary with a focus on Placement Follow-up who wants to help develop the social work of the future together with us.
About the Workplace
The Authority Unit in Aneby Municipality consists of three teams: the Children/Youth Team, the Adult Team, and the Assistance Team. We work closely together and collaborate actively with open care and schools to ensure good coordination and a holistic view. We value a positive work environment focused on community and job satisfaction, including flexible working hours, the possibility to work from home, external supervision, and access to wellness programs.
In our small municipality, the opportunities to influence and participate in development are significant, creating a meaningful work environment.
We offer:
- New and modern premises: We are located in fresh and safe premises that promote collaboration and a good work environment.
- Development opportunities: The Children/Youth Team is part of the national "Yrkesresan" (Career Journey), which gives us opportunities for good professional introduction and regular competence development.
- An inclusive work culture: In our work group, we care for each other, have a light sense of humor and an open atmosphere, and take joint responsibility for our mission. This is our strength.
Job Responsibilities
In the role of Placement Follow-up Officer, you will primarily work with placed children/young people aged 0–20 and their families. This involves investigation and follow-up work according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU). As a follow-up officer, you are the hub in the network around the placed child/young person, with contacts such as parents, foster homes, school/preschool, healthcare, police, and other collaboration partners. The target group also includes unaccompanied children for whom the social services are responsible. In our team, there is one other follow-up officer with whom you share your assignment, as well as two foster home secretaries. We are a small group with a strong team spirit that has worked hard in recent years with a focus on work environment issues and establishing a stable and well-functioning foster care system.
Here, you will work with a high degree of team spirit, supported by legislation, guidelines, and practice. In your daily work, you will receive support and supervision from the unit manager and colleagues, as well as an external supervisor. The work is characterized by professionalism and good treatment, as well as responsiveness to the needs of children, young people, and families.
We strive to enable change for the children and young people we meet, promote collaboration, and work with participation and quality in a respectful manner. Our goal is to reach good solutions together with the individual.
At the moment, we are facing an exciting and intensive development process to meet the transition to the new Social Services Act. In order to become an increasingly knowledge-based, accessible, and preventive social service, we are facing, among other things, further development of our organization, including school collaboration for placed children, Family Focus, and Parent at a Distance.

- Experience with Signs of Safety, ICDP, IRisk, the case management system Combine, and foster care is meritorious.
