Haparanda District Court is currently seeking an Acting District Judge for a fixed-term employment. You will be offered an interesting and varied job involving criminal cases, civil cases, and other matters.

Haparanda District Court is organizationally divided into a joint criminal court unit where the preparation is largely handled by court clerks. Civil cases are allocated to judges via a random draw, meaning each judge is responsible for their own civil cases. The work is stimulating and developing, and requires independence and personal integrity.

Qualifications

You who apply must have experience working as a member or fiscal prosecutor in an appellate court, or have performed the duties of an appellate court fiscal prosecutor for at least six months. It is meritorious if you are an Appellate Court Assessor.

The position of Acting District Judge places high demands on legal skill, judgment, cooperation skills, work capacity, and independence. You must meet the requirements set in the Judges' Board's requirement profile for permanent judges.

About Haparanda District Court

Haparanda District Court is one of three district courts in Norrbotten County. The district covers the municipalities of Haparanda, Kalix, Överkalix, Övertorneå, and Pajala. The court handles approximately 1,000 cases and matters per year. The court office is located in Haparanda, and the court also has a court venue in Kalix.

Haparanda District Court is a small and very pleasant workplace with 13 employees. The appointment is made only if the position becomes vacant. The position is a fixed-term employment for a maximum of twelve months. The start date is September 2026 or as agreed.
