About the role

Help shape the future of schools in Övertorneå Municipality

Do you want to work on development that makes a real difference? Here, you will have the opportunity to strengthen the quality of education and contribute to ensuring that every child and student gets the best possible conditions for success.

The Child and Education Administration in Övertorneå Municipality is in an exciting phase of development – and now we are looking for you who want to drive change with engagement, innovative thinking, and faith in the future.

The position is full-time and permanent.

The Role

As a Quality Developer, you have a central and varied role where you contribute both strategically and operationally. Among other things, you will:

  • Prepare analyses, decision support materials, and improvement proposals for the operations and the board
  • Work on the development and follow-up of our systematic quality work at the operational and authority level
  • Coordinate and support work with state grants and information management
  • Drive development projects and provide support in implementing new working methods and approaches
  • Monitor the external environment and disseminate knowledge from research and trends
  • Plan and lead training sessions and workshops
  • Handle other recurring tasks within the administration

Here you will have a role where you both influence the direction and contribute to the daily work.

About Us

The Child and Education Administration organizes four preschools, two primary schools, adapted school forms, upper secondary school, and adult education. Here, you will meet dedicated and knowledgeable colleagues, an open climate, and a strong ambition to give all children and students the best possible conditions in our preschools and schools. We work closely together with short decision-making paths. We believe in collaboration, lack of hierarchy, and new ideas – and we look forward to what you can contribute. Opportunities for remote work part of the time are available based on operational needs.

Are you the right person?

We are looking for you who want to make a difference and thrive in a role where you can combine analysis, development, and collaboration. As a Quality Developer, you work under the direction of the School Principal within the municipality's education activities, primarily dealing with issues related to various forms of development work based on systematic quality work, set goals, and environmental scanning. You are part of the school's management group.

We believe you have:

  • An academic education of at least 3 years or other post-secondary education deemed suitable by the employer
  • Experience in pedagogical work
  • Experience in development work
  • Good knowledge of current regulatory documents
  • Ability to work both strategically and operationally
  • Good IT skills and experience with database-based systems
  • Clear and pedagogical communication skills, both oral and written

Merits for the position include:

  • Experience in development and change work within public operations
  • Experience in school development work at the authority level
  • Experience working in a politically governed organization

As a person, you are structured, proactive, and confident in driving work forward. You collaborate easily and adapt your communication to different target groups. At the same time, you have a holistic perspective and can see how your work contributes to larger goals. In the role of Quality Developer, it is important that you can quickly navigate within the administration's internal organization and collaborate both internally and with external organizations and authorities relevant to the assignment. The assignment involves working both independently and in groups. You will be part of various local networks for the development of the assignment. You may also work with the preparation of cases and decision support materials for quality reviews, supervision, and other inspection measures, as well as providing support and quality assurance in these areas.

The role in the administration is new, which gives you great room to help shape the assignment.

Since the work takes place close to operations where children and young people are present, you will need to provide a certificate of good conduct (police record extract) prior to employment.

The position is subject to the condition that it is not claimed within the organization and that necessary decisions are made.
